Coaching shaped by training most coaches don't have

I can’t take you farther than I’ve gone myself. I hold a master’s degree in mental health counseling, and I bring that foundation into every session — the ability to sit with what’s hard instead of rushing past it, and to recognize what’s really driving a pattern, not just its surface. But just as much, I bring my own experience of grief, loss, and rebuilding. This isn’t theory to me.

Coaching that works beneath the surface.

People come to coaching stuck, tired, burnt out — carrying grief and loss, or something they can’t quite name. Something just feels off. This isn’t goal-setting alone. I was trained to work with what’s underneath the resistance, the avoidance, the being stuck — to recognize the patterns quietly running the show, and to know the difference between what’s coachable and what needs something deeper. I’m as comfortable sitting with grief and hard seasons as I am with ambition and growth, because I’ve done both myself.

What to expect as a client

01

Sessions on your terms

We meet by Zoom, wherever you are — or in person if you're local to the St. Louis, MO area. Same depth of work, either way.

02

A confidential space

What you bring to a session stays between us. You can speak freely, without rehearsing it first.

03

Honesty over comfort

I'll ask the question you're avoiding. Growth rarely comes from staying comfortable, and I won't let you settle for easy answers.

04

A plan, not just a conversation

Every session moves toward something concrete — a decision, a next step, a shift you can actually act on this week.

05

Full presence

Our time is yours. No distractions, no clock-watching — just focused attention on what you came to work through.

06

Steady accountability

I'll check in on what you said mattered to you, and help you follow through even when motivation dips.

What people usually want to know

Is this like therapy?

No — and that distinction matters. Therapy tends to look backward, working to understand and heal what happened. Coaching looks forward: we start from where you are right now and build toward where you want to be. That said, my counseling training means I understand the “why” behind stuck patterns more deeply than most coaches, so our forward-looking work is grounded in real insight, not guesswork.

I ask the questions you haven’t asked yourself, and I notice the patterns you can’t see from inside them. Some sessions we’re mapping a decision or a career move. Others we’re working through what’s really driving a fear, a habit, or a relationship that keeps repeating itself.

I also hold you to what you say you want. It’s easy to talk yourself out of change alone; it’s much harder to do that with someone in your corner who remembers what you told them mattered, and who won’t let you quietly abandon it.

It depends on what you’re working through. Some clients come with a specific decision to make and feel resolved in a handful of sessions. Others are working through a bigger transition — a career change, a season of grief, rebuilding after burnout — and stay with ongoing coaching for several months. We’ll talk honestly about what your goal actually calls for, and revisit it as we go.

Most clients start weekly or every other week, which keeps momentum without overwhelming your schedule. As you gain footing, we often space sessions further apart. There’s no fixed formula — we’ll find the rhythm that keeps you moving forward.

Let's talk about what's next for you.

Send me an email and tell me a bit about what’s going on — I’ll respond and we’ll figure out the right next step together.
